Keurig has licensed their patented technology to respected manufacturers like Breville, Cuisinart, and Mr. Coffee.
Breville, a manufacturer of distinctly designed small appliances, offers a stainless steel one cup brewer for around $299.95. Keurig is the market leader in the one-cup coffee category. Keurig manufactures a complete line of single cup coffee makers for home and work.
Keurig was founded by coffee lovers who asked themselves: “Why do we brew coffee a pot at a time when we drink it a cup at a time?” Beginning in 1998, the first Keurig brewers were placed in offices in New York and New England. The first Keurig coffee maker designed for home use was introduced in 2005.
Keurig’s patented single-cup brewing system lets people brew a perfect cup of gourmet coffee in less than a minute without the hassle of grinding beans, measuring coffee, handling filters or cleaning up.

Keurig coffee is a common name for K-Cups.
KCups are individual portion packs (capsules) of gourmet coffee, tea or hot chocolate. When a K Cup is used in a Keurig coffee maker, a hot, fresh cup of coffee, tea or hot chocolate is brewed in about 30 seconds. You can now enjoy a cup of great coffee without the hassle of grinding beans, measuring coffee, and cleaning-up used grounds and filters.
In the last two years, K-Cups have exploded in popularity as gourmet beverage drinkers throughout North America enjoy their daily cups of KCup coffee, tea, and hot chocolate.
